This service to dedicate the stone (pictured above) was held at Piershill Cemetery, Edinburgh, Scotland on Sunday March 2nd. 2008.

James Harden was an American, born in Georgia. He left home before the start of the American Civil War and moved to New York. At one point in the War he fought against his own father Major George Harden, who served with the Cherokee Brigade for the Confederates. James' mother was a Cherokee by the name of Birds of Dawn.

After the war James moed to Edinburgh Scotland, wher he remained until his death on March 2nd. 1919. He was buried in an unmarked grave, but we were given permission by the owner of the cemetery to erect a stone on March 2nd. 2008.

The Gentleman above in the Tan Jacket is Mr. Peter Ferrier formerly of the Seaforth Highlanders. James B. Harden was Peter's Maternal Grandfather.
